DNA Register
Privacy Notes
How the Clan Jack DNA and Lineage Register collects, protects, and uses voluntary register information.
What is collected
The register collects your name, email, country, optional Facebook name, Clan Jack membership status, earliest known Jack-line ancestor details, migration notes, DNA testing status, FamilyTreeDNA Jack/Jacks project interest, and consent choices.
Why it is collected
The information helps Clan Jack understand family-line research interest, identify possible DNA testing candidates, support project participation, and prepare anonymous totals for committee and AGM reporting.
Who can access it
Private entries are visible only to authorised register administrators. Public pages show no personal records.
What is not collected
The register does not collect raw DNA files, DNA passwords, match screenshots, health information, or full living-person family trees.
Retention and your choices
Entries are kept while they remain useful for Clan Jack lineage and DNA interest work. Retention should be reviewed at least annually. You may update your entry with your private link, request a copy, request correction, withdraw, or request deletion.
Anonymous reporting
Anonymous statistics may be used for committee and AGM reporting, such as total entries, countries represented, testing status, and people wanting guidance.
